The PEIFA is encouraged by Federal Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan’s announcement today stating that support programs for the fishery are “days away”.

The organization continues to work with other fishing groups in the Gulf area on advocating for new fishery specific programs in this time of COVID 19. Recommendations have been made on how the existing small business programs can be adjusted so that more enterprises can take advantage of these programs.

The PEIFA will be presenting tomorrow afternoon to the Federal Finance Committee in Ottawa on the impacts of COVID 19 on the fishery. We will be updating the membership on all our social platforms once there is a program announcement.
