The PEIFA along with 14 other stakeholders in the Atlantic Halibut fishery completed a written submission to the firm Ernst & Young who are preparing a report to the Minister of Fisheries & Oceans, Honorable Keith Ashfield.  A small group of the PEIFA Groundfish Advisory Board have been meeting throughout the winter to work on this submission and work on gaining fair share of the Halibut quota for PEI fishers.  The small group also presented to the firm on behalf of the PEIFA at the Ernst & Young forum in Moncton in March, 2012.

All submissions to Ernst & Young have been posted to the DFO website:  click the following link to view: www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/peches-fisheries/reports-rapports/eap-pce/ah-fa-s-eng.htm

You can also view the full version of the PEIFA submittion in the members only section of this website.

We await a copy of the Ernst & Young report as well as announcements from the Minister regarding Halibut Shares for 2012.
